Black Forest Fire is the Austin trio of drummer/vocalist Karen Skloss, guitar/vocalist Jay C. Tonne Jr. and bass player Doug Walseth. Their album debut, Transit of Venus, combines primal pounding and beefy shoegaze guitar with stretches of poignant popcraft, such as this voice-cracking heartbreak ballad from Skloss. The album features cover art by the legendary Storm Thorgerson, who did the designs for Pink Floyd‘s Dark Side of the Moon and Led Zeppelin‘s Houses of the Holy, and is out November 12th via Sedimental Records.
