Highland Menswear’s Super Chill Spring Collection

Yet again, award for cheekiest menswear lookbook goes to Highland, the New York-based label that’s always got some funny photo direction up their sleeve—in this case, a suburban romp through autobody shops, pizza parlors, grocery stores and even a garbage dump, completely outfitted in Highland’s spring collection. Theatricality aside, Highland has also managed to produce, quite simply, one of the coolest lines of men’s clothing lines in the world right now. This season, their signature loose, lax trousers and outerwear are done up in shades of lime, blueberry and plum, and an army-colored sweat suit that looks like the chillest look in the entire universe. This is great. And it makes me wonder would everyday settings work for a womenswear brand? I think naat. Less sex and a bit more reality would make womenswear more interesting non? Hmm.

  2. Alex Frank says:

    Hey Ruth,

I think that’s a really good point—menswear has no trouble embracing practicality, but sometimes it feels like womenswear is only ever interested in a fantasy. Fantasy can be great, but there’s plenty of people that want something they can relate to a bit more.

This campaign is so beautiful. So nice to see thoughtful men’s fashion.
