Watch the Trailer for Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers

There’s finally an official trailer for Spring Breakers, the upcoming Harmony Korine movie we first heard about last year, when Riff Raff took credit for inspring James Franco’s character Alien, a white rapper with cornrows, funny sunglasses and lots of tattoos. (Franco later denied this, but there’s certainly a resemblance.) Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Harmony’s wife Rachel Korine and Gucci Mane also star in the film. “It’s a white movie,” Gucci said in an interview last year. “I’m the only black person in the whole movie. It’s like a white Pulp Fiction. I’m the bad guy. That’s what they wanted me to play. I could have been the good guy if they wanted me to.” Get excited! The whole thing, featuring new original music from birthday candle-victim Skrillex, hits theaters in March.

Isn’t Pulp Fiction the white Pulp Fiction?

and as much as I believe the character was inspired by Riff Raff, there has to be hundreds of Riff Raff types running around Florida so who can really say

I’d love to “watch the trailer” but it seems to exist nowhere even sites that purport to have it like this one. Even the trailer on MTV remains starkly blacked-out. Did someone anger the oligarchs over at Disney?

I saw this at TIFF this past fall. It was actually pretty dope. Gomez is pretty tame. But Hudgens… this may be her only good role to date.
