Art Show: Jaimie Warren

For Jaimie Warren’s recent show, The Whoas of Female Tragedy II, at The Hole gallery in New York, she took photos of herself dressed as Lasanga Del Rey and Jon Beignet Ramsey, as Yoda and as a woman in Picasso’s “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon.” Warren, based in Kansas City, often works with friends, roommates and members of her community to produce the images, as well as her kids TV show, Whoop Dee Doo. Warren’s got a playfully devilish spirit, and she explained how that translates into her work, though she had a couple of mishaps along the way. Though the show is unfortunately no longer on view, you can see more of Warren’s work here.
