Stream Bona Dish’s Zaragoza Tapes: 1981-1982

Last month, to scant blog fanfare, Captured Tracks put out a compilation of songs by a little-known British rock band named Bona Dish. They hailed from the Hertfordshire region, consisted of two women and two men, and released only two cassette tapes-worth of music before vanishing from sight 30 years ago. Zaragoza Tapes: 1981-1982 captures the entirety of their recorded output, which feels like the perfect meeting of jangle-pop simplicity and post-punk disorder—all crystalline vocals and hummable melodies, with enough rhythmic instability and scratchy violin to keep your ears on alert, and perhaps even hooked.
