Stream: Vår, “The World Fell”

April 12, 2013

Elias Rønnenfelt and Loke Rahbek's arty/industrial/cold wave Vår project has expanded to a four-piece, and they've just dropped a single from their debut LP, which they recorded over two weeks last summer in the back of a Bushwick record store. Beneath the automaton-like, spoke-sung lyrics, which include such self-serious, apocalyptic proclamations as we shut the door on life, so we chose fire, there's a certain sweetness to first single "The World Fell," from the easy melodicism of the grounding synth melody to the warming tendrils of noise. No One Dances Quite Like My Brothers is out May 14 via Sacred Bones.
