Itemized: Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen Blackwater Tie-Dye Sweatpants

Every week a different FADER staff member will pick a clothing item or accessory that he or she has lately been spending a lot of time with—or would like to—and write a little love letter to it. We would’ve done a column on who we’re dating but that seemed a little bit much. This week Felipe talks about the Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen Blackwater Tie-Dye Sweatpants.

Recently I saw a picture of myself wearing solid colored sweatpants that, when stretched across my thighs and under the patterned shirt I'd worn with them, ended up looking like tight slacks. This is unfortunate. I don't wear slacks and I don't want my sweats posing as slacks—I need a pair that advertise my need to indulge soft fabrics and that I'm no cheapskate, that I spent good money on them. The Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen Blackwater Tie-Dye Sweatpants have a tailored fit and wide waistband to compliment their understated pattern. They get plenty of stares, which is also the point, but are of a quality that would make Murderball competitors feel like kings. The splashy tye-die pattern they hold is jiggy and understated and makes me feel way more important than the last time I put on some dress pants. Grab them now (available in a full size run) at DJ Premium.
