As great as all the dates of the Mad Decent Block Party, presented in conjunction with PUMA, have been, the New York installment holds a special place in our hearts for obvious reasons (hint: it's because we live here). This year, it happened at the Williamsburg waterfront, which managed to successfully hold like 7,000 people. In addition to the usual suspects, there were performances from DJ Sliink, Kito and Reija Lee, Destructo, Rockie Fresh, 3Ball MTY, Flosstradamus, Matt and Kim and, of course, Major Lazer. What would the Mad Decent Block Party be without Major Lazer? If you've been following our recaps, you'll know that the Major Lazer show has turned into quite the interactive event and this date was no different: Diplo went out in the bubble, everyone took their shirts off (it was hot!) and those crazy confetti cannons made an appearance again too. How do we get one of those just to have around the house? Is that legal? There were plenty of surprise guests this time around as well: Casey Veggies popped up during Rockie Fresh's set (as did some beach balls) and if you were eagle eyed enough you may have also spotted Reggie Watts, Travie McCoy and others wandering around. Stay tuned for future recaps, as well as a video with DJ Sliink, and, as always, use the #MDBP2013 hashtag so we can all feel like one giant Mad Decent community, even if we don't happen to be celebrating together.
