Staff Selects: St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival Detroit

August 22, 2013

Every week, a different FADER editor compiles a playlist to highlight a new release and give you a guide to that artist’s web of influences and peers. These Staff Selects live in our Spotify app, alongside GEN Fs from our archives and playlists for each issue. This week, we get ready for Detroit's first-ever Laneway Festival.

In a couple weeks, Detroit will host the first-ever American installment of St. Jerome's Laneway Festival, the series that launched in Melbourne in 2004 and now takes place in 8 cities across the globe. (Remember when people wore cute outfits at the Sydney one in 2009?) With the help of Detroit's own Movement Electronic Festival and Ghostly International, the Laneway folks have booked a stellar, two-stage lineup of people who mix computer glitch with soul. Buy tickets for the all-ages, September 14th party now, and preview what's to come with this greatest hits playlist of this year's performers.
