Stream: Hunters & Collectors, "Talking to a Stranger" (Avalanches Rework)

Leave it to the ever-elusive Avalanches to return to the scene with a rework of a really great, relatively obscure (to American audiences anyway) song from 1982 by Hunters & Collectors. Ever the masters of, like, everything they touch, Avalanches' remix manages to oscillate between the joyful post-punk of the original and a beefed-up disco backbeat that sounds like Transformers stomping around—it's a brittle remix, but made with a lot of warmth and heart, which is generally what we look to the Avalanches for anyway. Nobody loves music as much as the Avalanches, except all of us when we're listening to the Avalanches. Long version up top, radio edit down below.
