As we're writing this, the Mad Decent Block Party, the traveling spectacle that seemed to cause people to party like it was the end of the world wherever it landed, is done for the year. We've hung up our PUMAs, some of us have beards now, a couple dudes have dreads but maybe not on purpose. Everyone is tired, but satisfied. How else could you feel? This year, for its finale, the Block Party returned to Los Angeles' Center Studios in the thick of a late-Summer heatwave. Matt & Kim, Big Gigantic, Clockwork, Sasha Go Hard, Samo Sound Boy, The Party Squad and DJ El Dusty performed before, of course, another legendary set from Major Lazer, who the crowd was very visibly anticipating all day and into the evening. Did we mention that barely anyone was wearing clothes? Barely anyone was wearing clothes, which is just about as fitting as the Major Lazer performance which featured the usual crowd-pleasing favorites: giant Diplo heads! Diplo in a bubble in the audience! Diplo in general! We wish we could tell you to buy tickets for the next date on the tour, but we'll all have to hold our collective breath until next year. Until then, stay tuned to this very site for more video interviews, coming soon.
