FADER PREMIERE

In an unlikely pairing, Shoreditch producer Stay Positive, the ex-Christian AIDS guy whose atmospheric-ravey Blood Brother EP we showcased last month, has reworked Icelandic folk-rock/post-rock star Ásgeir's latest single. (A huge name back home, Ásgeir's 2012 debut, Dyrd í dauðathogn, is reportedly so successful that one in 10 Icelanders own the record.) The original "Torrent" sounds nothing like Stay Positive, and the remix sounds nothing like Ásgeir, though both work well over a backdrop shrouded in fog. Ásgeir's new album, The Silence, comes out January 27th in the UK and February 4th in the US via One Little Indian.
