Stream: Yvette, “Attrition”

FADER PREMIERE

Noah Kardos-Fein and Rick Daniel, the Brooklyn duo who release music as Yvette, make experimental rock songs that are weird and abrasive but not completely abstract. "Attrition," a gloomy, guttural track from their forthcoming full-length, exemplifies that duality. In a matter of time, the pieces come apart, sings Kardos-Fein over screeching guitars and resounding drum kicks. The song has an erratic sort of momentum itself, but it never fully unravels, ultimately revealing itself to be a razor-sharp punk song at its heart. Yvette's new LP, Process, is out October 29th in vinyl, cassette and digital formats via Brooklyn label GODMODE.
