Video: Blood Orange, "Time Will Tell"

Blood Orange does his best "Pleasure Principle" in a new music video for his song "Time Will Tell," the last song on his sophomore album, Cupid Deluxe, out on iTunes today. The differences, though, between Janet's classic 1986 clip and Hynes' contemporary update are what makes Hynes' charms so special: unlike in Jackson's high-production version, we can see the edges in "Time Will Tell," and this is DIY pop if there was ever such a thing. Dressed in a white sweatsuit with a turtleneck and some high-top Nikes that look like they're really from the 1980s, Hynes spins around a Manhattan dance studio like no one's watching. It's as sweetly endearing as the song itself. Watch above and buy the awesome album on iTunes. Hynes is also lecturing tomorrow night about his synesthesia and how it affects his composing—check here for more details.
