FADER PREMIERE

On the heels of guitarist Daniel Bachman's great Jesus I'm a Sinner LP—our recent interview ended with him saying, memorably, "Life is weird, man. Fuck!"—Tompkins Square is releasing another young, adept musician with an ear to the past: Chicago singer/songwriter Ryley Walker. Seventies-styled psych-folk seems to be chilling hard in late 2013—Walker goes well with Quilt—and he's hitting the vibe on a hiiigh level for a newcomer, his debut video complete with excellently intermingling guitar and string work, tan vests and a scraggly 'stache. Ryley Walker's debut EP comes out on Friday, November 29th (only available on vinyl, and featuring an instrumental duet with Bachman), and this track is out now on iTunes. His album comes out next April. Very excited.
