Stream: Cool Kids f. HBK Gang, "Chop"

Chuck Inglish and Sir Michael Rocks have officially ended their year-long hiatus, called so that they could pursue their own careers, and are back to making music as The Cool Kids again. Today the Chicago "meta-rappers" jump back in with not one, but two new singles: the Inglish-produced "Computer School" and "Chop." For the latter, they teamed up with the Bay Area's fast-rising HBK Gang. It begins like a Cool Kids song, with neat rhyme schemes and spare throw-back productions; but then at about 2:30 a wave of warm synth washes in to fill some of the space and announce HBK's arrival. If you were a fan in 2008, chances are good that you might be into this as well. Their comeback album, Shark Week, is due out later this year. For more on Sir Michael Rocks' solo pursuits, read his GEN F profile from FADER 87.
