Kanye West Is Ready to Try Bonnaroo Again

Things didn’t go so well the last time, but Kanye and the festival’s organizers are apparently ready to try again. Yeezus will rise again in Tennessee.

This summer Kanye West will return to Bonnaroo, for the first time since his disastrous showing six years ago, to headline the three-day festival, alongside Elton John, Jack White, Lionel Richie and Vampire Weekend. In 2008, Kanye was booed after he showed up for his 8:45 p.m. set at 4:30 in the morning and then gave a lackluster performance. Kanye later directed blame at festival organizers, who should have known better than to give Mr. Glow In The Dark Tour a set-time during daylight hours. Or so he typed so fucking hard I might break my fucking Mac book Air!!!!!!!!-furiously on his now defunct KanyeUniverseCity blog:

WE WERE OBVIOUSLY DEALING WITH FUCKING IDIOTS WHO DIDN’T REALLY HAVE THE CAPACITY TO REALLY PUT ON THIS SHOW PROPERLY. THEY TRIED 2 GIVE ME A TIME SLOT WERE IT WAS STILL LIGHT OUTSIDE … I HAVE A FUCKING LIGHT SHOW DUMB ASS, IT’S NOT CALLED GLOW IN THE DARK FOR NO REASON SQUID BRAINS!

There's a lot -- about 700 words and dozens of exclamation points -- more where that came from. So yeah: things didn't go so well the last time, but Kanye and the festival's organizers are apparently ready to try again. Yeezus will rise again-- in Tennessee.

Bonnaroo will run from June-15 in Manchester, Tennessee. Also slated to perform that weekend: Frank Ocean, Lauryn Hill, Danny Brown, Wiz Khalifa, Ice Cube, Chance the Rapper, James Blake, Skrillex, and many more jam bands and otherwise. Browse the full line-up here.
