Bob Mould, since his early days in the iconic Hüsker Dü, through Sugar and now a couple decades of solo albums, has been a reliable, regular source of music in the 30-odd years that he's been recording. The bittersweetly titled "Hey Mr. Grey" is Mould at his finest: melancholy but motivating rock-cum-power-pop, if heavier on the pop side than ever before. It's from a forthcoming album on Merge Records Beauty and Ruin, which will be out on June 3 but can be pre-ordered here.
