Stream: Bloody Jay, “Don’t Know”

Bloody Jay, the currently incarcerated half of Black Portland, shares “Don’t Know,” his most intensely emo song yet.

April 07, 2014

Bloody Jay's the often unsung half of Black Portland, and while most of the attention around the tape revolved around 2014 golden boy and current cover star of The FADER Young Thug, Jay's contributions were just as essential, and often even weirder. He's currently incarcerated (though Thug paid his probation fine), and his latest song, "Don't Know," is his most intense yet. He sounds wounded, almost to the point of tears, and I wouldn't be entirely surprised if the production was handled by the trap sideproject of Stain'd (somehow, this isn't a bad thing). It'll appear on Jay's upcoming #NAWFR tape; Black Portland 2 is due out this summer.
