When the mind is full of fog—say, like the day after a FADER issue launch party, for example—the right soundtrack can guide you to safe land. With its spirit-lifting strings and stepping stone beats, London producer Impey's "Loudpack" is just the ticket. Taken from his Bangclap/4titude EP due out on Bristol's vinyl-only instrumental grime label Sector 7 Sounds on June 9th, its maze-like ambience puts the onus on mystery over menace—yet it's precisely all its flicks and flourishes that work to untangle any knots you might, hypothetically, have in your head. In other words, Impey's take on grime is musical medicine.
