Beats by Dre and Fendi Collab on Obscenely Nice Leather Headphones

The headphone game just jumped up a notch or ten.

Hot off its massive acquisition by Apple, Beats by Dre has announced a collaboration with Italian fashion house Fendi. Itself owned by fashion behemoth LVMH, Fendi has recently been making a push to carve out an identity as a historic brand with contemporary relevance, going as far as to sponsor a multi-million dollar renovation of Rome’s Fountain di Trevi and to introduce a branded app called MyBaguette. Perhaps with an eye towards recapturing that bread-shaped bag's icon status, Fendi’s collaboration with Beats by Dre loudly announces its most recent entry into the high-profile, high-end accessory game. The hand-stitched leather headphones made their catwalk debut as one of many luxe accessories accenting Fendi’s FW14 presentation yesterday in Milan. Set to drop in January, the headphones will be available in baby blue, red, white, and black and are set to run you (or, you know, someone) $1,300 a pair.
