Though YG has been mostly known for his partnership with DJ Mustard, the Los Angeles rapper has an entire crew of spitters signed to his Pushaz Ink label. Slim 400 put out a mixtape this past 4th that might have been a bit too hot to be properly enjoyed at an afternoon BBQ. A group of lesser known producers (Kreep, Hitman Beatz and Ric Rude) stick close to DJ Mustard's well recognized party style, but lyrically Slim's focus is more weighty, focused on friends ending up in jail and day-to-day gang banging. Slim clearly was taking notes when YG's My Krazy Life revealed that the gangster foundations of L.A. has not vanished from the city's rap community.
