Cory Arcangel’s New Book Is Just Tweets of People Saying They’re Working on Their Novel

Brb, working on my #novel.

Cory Arcangel, the renowned New York-based visual artist who actually DJ'd at The FADER FORT one time, is releasing a new book. Working On My Novel is a carefully-curated collection of Tweets, all of which contain the phrase "working on my novel." Arcangel explains the very serious concept in an "elevator pitch":

"[The book] is about the act of creation and the gap between the different ways we express ourselves today. Exploring the extremes of making art, from satisfaction and even euphoria to those days or nights when nothing will come, it's the story of what it means to be a creative person, and why we keep on trying."

Arcangel's being cheeky, certainly, but to me it seems more like a legitimate account of procrastination—are you REALLY chipping away at the next great American novel or are you just refreshing Twitter/watching Family Guy/listening to nice music? You can pre-order the the book here, and also read a truly unique interview with Arcangel from The FADER's 74th issue.
