Freddie Gibbs “Harold’s” Video Is a Homage To Chicken Spots Everywhere

Watch Freddie Gibbs and Madlib’s latest video from their collaborative Piñata EP

August 05, 2014

I never knew they had Harold's outside of Chicago. I've only ever had it in the Chi, hefty and greasy, swimming in mild sauce, served up from a strip-mall hole-in-the-wall in Hyde Park with hand drawn, misspelled signs. But apparently there are locations in Gary, Indiana, where Freddie Gibbs sits over a snackbox spitting on an icy Madlib loop. Gibbs and Lib's collaborative album Piñata is still pushing wigs back with its thick verses, as lucid as the stark gritty streetshots that dominate this new video. Gibbs spits about selling drugs and busting guns, sure, but all we can really hear is six wings mild sauce with all the fries you can give me. Every city deserves raps this delicious.
