Legowelt Is Making Witch House as Pagan Sector with Cliff Lothar

But it’s completely regardless of the stylistic tropes of yesteryear’s genre known as witch house.

Legowelt is a genuinely confusing and beguiling individual. He’s a Dutch dance music producer who has made classics emanating rave mysticism since the ‘90s, with notable recent outings on L.I.E.S. and Crème Organization. He’s at his most explicitly occult with his new project Pagan Sector with Cliff Lothar, which melds black metal aesthetics with ’92-era rave sensibility. What’s amazing about this project is that it builds upon the exact set of references that characterized 2010-era witch house, yet does something completely different with them as if that genre had never existed. To the questions “What?” or “Why?” we have no answers. Check out the video for leftfield ripper “Druids 2 Frenzy” above, off the Hermopolis Magna EP out now on Knekelhuis.
