Kanye West Made a Not-so-Surprise Appearance at Chicago’s AAHH! Fest

The local boy joined Common for “Get ‘Em High,” and then stuck around to close the show with a set of his own.

As predicted, Kanye West was the not-so-secret "very special surprise guest" billed to close Chicago's inaugural AAHH! Fest, which was held over the weekend in Union Park. The local boy joined the festival's co-organizer Common for "Get 'Em High," then hung around to do a sixteen-song set that included "Jesus Walks," "Power," "I Don't Like, "Mercy," "Gold Digger," "Homecoming" and more. In addition to West and Common, festival attendees were treated to performances by De La SoulLil HerbLupe FiascoVince StapesJay Electronica—who joined Common for the premiere of his "Kingdom (Remix)"—and more, as well as a community showcase featuring local artists curated by Rhymefest. The event was presented by Common's Common Ground Foundation and West's Donda's House Inc., and all proceeds will go to the Common Ground Foundation, Donda’s House, Inc., Arts Education in Chicago Public Schools, and Year-Round Youth Jobs initiatives.
