Listen to Two Dev Hynes Demos Rejected by Britney Spears

The first is a glitchy kiss-off song and the second is a pining piano ballad; both are good.

A few years back, Dev Hynes—who has written hits for the likes of Sky Ferreira, Florence and the Machine, and Solange—apparently wrote a couple of songs intended for Britney Spears' 2013 album Britney Jean, but they didn't make the final cut. However, as Pigeons and Planes points out, some enterprising soul seems to have found those two demos left on the cutting room floor and uploaded them to SoundCloud. The first is a glitchy kiss-off song, the second is a pining piano ballad; and both sound like they could have bolstered the disappointing album. On Twitter, Hynes sounded surprised by their surfacing. "How do things even leak??" he wrote, adding "Oh well! Enjoy."
