NFL Fines Player For Wearing Beats By Dre Headphones

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick violated NFL rules as the league has a deal with Bose.

Beats by Dre headphones are not getting any love by the National Football League, and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is realizing that the hard way. According to USA Today, the star player was fined $10,000 by the league for wearing Dre's headphones following last Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Apparently, sporting the headphones goes against NFL rules since the league already has a sponsorship deal with Beats' competitor Bose. Kaepernick, who was featured in a commercial for Beats (see below), wore the pink headphones for Breast Cancer Awareness Month (the evidence is in the tweet that Beats by Dre sent). When asked whether Beats will pay the fine on his behalf, Kaepernick replied: "We'll let that be unanswered." It's another hiccup for Beats after recent media reports said Apple was shutting down Beats Music, which an Apple spokesperson denied. That said, all publicity is good publicity, though NFL players who are Beats by Dre owners should leave their headphones at home if they don't want their wallets to take a hit.
