New York musician BENAMIN has been pillaging funk and fusion for years, producing light and fluffy jazz cuts that feel excavated from a 1980s vinyl collection. His new group IGBO with producer sly5thave keeps on delivering--"CHANT" features no chants, but lush live instrumentation that feels like a rub-down of Bob James' "Night Crawler" in the best way.
