Jam City Gets Smooth And Staticky On “Crisis”

Wavy new tune from the British producer’s forthcoming sophomore effort.

A few months ago, British producer Jam City broke away from the clean lines and aggressive textures of his 2012 debut LP Classical Curves with "Unhappy," a downcast pop-damaged cut from his second album that should see release next year. The tune sounded buried in a drifting cloud of fog—similar to how it was presented on Jam City's web detritus-strewn website—and new cut "Crisis" is very similar, a digital sigh of a song that suggests quite the contradictory notion of an artist making a bold statement by receding further into the darkness.
