Heems Drops “Sometimes,” Announces New Album

“Sometimes I like chicks, sometimes it’s politics.”

Heems' Eat, Pray, Thug drops March 10th via Megaforce, and today he delivers the first cut, "Sometimes," a bristling tally of internal conflicts—Sometimes I like chicks, sometimes it's politics—over a dusted Gordon Voidwell beat. The track, like his upcoming album, finds the Das Racist co-founder stretching out the space between two worlds: "As a first generation South Asian in the U.S. I often felt like I lived two lives, an Indian one and an American one," he says of the track. "Dualities are normal though. As fun as rap is, I can't always feel happy. Sometimes I feel sad too." Eat, Pray, Thug was recorded between Bombay and Brooklyn and will feature Dev Hynes, Rafiq Bhatia, Harry Fraud and more.
