Watch Hanni El Khatib Sing “Moonlight” In A Bar

Plus a FADER premiere of the rock songwriter’s new track, “Melt Me.”

On a grey day in late 2014, Hanni El Khatib and FADER hid out from the rain at a Brooklyn bar and restaurant called Lot 45. Inside, the songwriter performed a stripped-down version of "Moonlight," the title track from his about-to-drop LP. Watch above as the GZA collaborator smoothes the cinematic edges of the album version and shows off a softer, sleepier side of things.

Hanni has also shared a new Moonlight album cut, "Melt Me." Premiering below, the track was built around a retro-sounding chord progression that, El Khatib says, drudged up memories of Junior High in the '90s. "It created some nostalgic feeling for me that I can't really explain," the LA-based artist told FADER. "I tried to build the track around that feeling." Moonlight drops January 20th on Innovative Leisure.
