Fucked Up’s Young Guv Shows His Softer Side To The “Wrong Crowd”

You probably best know Ben Cook's work from his furious guitar-slashing as a member of Canadian hardcore titans Fucked Up—but his side project Young Guv gives him a venue to explore different sounds, as shown on the seven-minute soft-pop tune "Wrong Crowd." The tune's taken from his debut LP under the moniker, Ripe 4 Luv, which will be released on March 10 via indie-pop institution Slumberland.

Cook explained the song's origins in an email to FADER: "'Wrong Crowd' was written on a day off in Australia in a random person's bedroom I found off Facebook to work on music that day. The song is about a man wrongly accused of robbery, writing his wife from prison."
