This Bjork-Inspired Tumblr Brings Visibility To Women In Electronic Music

International network Female Pressure is collecting images of women producing and performing.

Remember when Bjork said in an interview that one way to change the boys' club culture of music production was for women to photograph themselves in front of the mixing board? Well, someone decided to put her advice into action. Female Pressure, an international network of women who make electronic music and digital art, has created a Tumblr that catalogues images of women producing and performing. They launched earlier this week in honor of International Women's Day. They're also collecting articles highlighting female contributions to music, including our feature on how to change male-dominated studio culture. Looking through these images is a concrete reminder of how many incredible women are out there producing music, and hopefully it'll inspire more to do the same.
