Shash’U Unleashes “PXXXY” From His Upcoming Fool’s Gold EP

The Montreal producer pushes deeper into his signature brand of “power funk”

Shash'U is undeniably next. Since picking up props from electronic heavyweights like Kaytranada and releasing his debut EP earlier in 2015 on Fool's Gold Records, the Montreal beatsmith returns with "PXXXY," the first single off his upcoming PWRFNK EP. "PWRFNK" or "power funk" refers to Shash'U's signature style of '70s/'80s-tinged electro-funk, elevated with audacious drums and some seriously heavy bass. If "PXXXY" is any indication of the quality of the rest of the nine-track EP, with its impeccable sonic assault of synths, then "future bass" as a sub-genre is definitely in good hands. PWRFNK is out on March 31 on Fool's Gold, and you can check out Shash'U's SXSW dates after the jump.

Shash'U SXSW Dates

3/18 - Boiler Room - Empire Garage

3/19 - M For Montreal Showcase - Maggie Mae's

3/20 - Fool's Gold Showcase - Gypsy Lounge

3/21 - The Super Party - The Main
