Insound Shuts Down After 16 Years of Indie Advocacy

​Online shop reaped in the resurgence of vinyl.

By the end of this month, the online vinyl haven Insound will be shutting down. It was the right place at the right time for Insound when they first started netting from vinyl sales in 2003; Indie music and vinyl went hand in hand and for the next decade the resurgence flourished. Launched in 1999, three ex-Elektra employees, Christian Anthony, Matt Wishnow, and Ari Sass, Insound sought to expose indie artists with vinyl and merch retail, events, and online zines. R.I.P.
