The stark video is for a cut off of Jlin’s forthcoming debut LP for Planet Mu.

Indiana producer Jlin made her first big appearance on the footwork scene back in 2011 with a couple tracks on Planet Mu's second seminal footwork compilation, Bangs & Works Vol.2: The Best Of Chicago Footwork. Thankfully her and Mu have stayed in touch, and her debut LP, Dark Energy is set to come out March 23rd (available to stream in full over at Dazed and Confused). While we anxiously wait for that, this new video for album cut "Unknown Tongues" will put in good work to tide us over. Directed by Australian filmmaker Keith Deverell and starring Melbourne-based contemporary dancer Lilian Steiner, the striking video depicts the performer in a series of firmly-planted yet fluid movements set against either a pure white or black background, dressed in variations of those colors. It's quite a stark affair, and perfectly matches the foreboding, bare-bones strength of Jlin's excellent track—check it out above.
