Illegal Civilization’s New Lookbook Proves It’s Cool To Be Proper

The brand exclusively premieres their new country club-core lookbook.

April 22, 2015

The new lookbook from OF-affiliated skate crew Illegal Civilization is dope: pretty young things with the run of a country club dressed up in shades of lime green and powder pink. The message of the collection, Mikey Alfred tells The FADER, is one of civility and respect. "We want kids to understand it's cool to be proper. It's cool to be good at something and take it seriously. It's cool to handle your business. It's cool to be fully involved in moments, being at a concert and not having to film every second of it. Eating dinner and having a nice conversation and enjoying the time with the people your with at that moment. Really living and excelling, bettering ourselves everyday."

It's aspirational, but what's so magnetic about these images is the hint that these picturesque scenes might twist into mischief and debauchery at any moment. They're clothes for the kind of kids who take tennis lessons during the day and then sneak onto the golf course to get high at night. When the fits are this clean and bright, no matter what you do, you'll look proper doing it. See the lookbook below, then head to Illegal Civilization for product shots and pricing. The collection drops 5pm PST on April 24.
