For the uninitiated: Post Malone is the 19-year-old Texas daze rapper behind the buzzy SoundCloud single "White Iverson, " which I heard Wiz Khalifa play not once but twice during a SXSW DJ set, all while imploring the crowd of so-called "influencers" to log Malone's name. Malone, whose early musical forays included a stint in a high school hardcore band and adventures in bedroom beat making, now works closely with perennially underrated Atlanta produce FKi and seems to specialize in earworm-y, sing-song-y, narcotized rambling—just like this latest, "Too Young," which is co-produced by FKi, The Makanics, and Justin Mosely and was conceived of with A$AP Yams in mind. "With all the crazy experiences and moments I've been having because of this music and shit I just don't want to go before my time," Malone says of the song's themes, "before I am able to experience all the amazing things that life can bring."
