Alo Wala Flex Their International Bass Music Sound With “Vibrate To Win” EP

A female Punjabi-Indian rapper from Chicago + a pair of Danish producers = heat.

May 04, 2015

This is some seriously unique stuff. Alo Wala is the project of Chicago-born Punjabi-Indian rapper Shivani Ahlowalia and Danish bass producers Julius Sylvest and Copyflex, also known as the duo Copia Doble Systema. If that somehow isn't global enough for you, their new EP Vibrate To Win just dropped on Portuguese producer Branko's Enchufada label. The hard-hitting title track sees Ahlowalia trading off her M.I.A.-esque bars with Italian MC Mudimbi, who's rapping in his native tongue, with a serious production assist from German duo Schlachthofbronx. Meanwhile, "The Coconut Song" is an exercise in laidback low-end that feels more at home poolside than on the dancefloor. Pitbull be damned; Alo Wala is making international music in its truest sense. Stream the Vibrate To Win EP below.
