Prince Is Holding A “Rally 4 Peace” Show In Baltimore

He hopes it will be a “catalyst for pause and reflection.”

May 05, 2015

Prince is still making us wait to hear his "tribute to all of the people of the city of Baltimore," a song he recently recorded in the wake of Freddie Gray's tragic death, but now it seems like he's found an opportune time to premiere it. This Sunday, May 10, he'll be hosting a "Rally 4 Peace" show in Baltimore at Royal Farms Arena with his band 3RDEYEGIRL. "In a spirit of healing, the event is meant to be a catalyst for pause and reflection following the outpouring of violence that has gripped Baltimore and areas throughout the US," states the press release. Like the "dance rally for peace" he held last weekend in Paisley Park, Prince has asked attendees again to wear something gray "in tribute to all those recently lost in the violence." Tickets go on sale tomorrow night at 5 p.m. EST at LiveNation.com. Until then, check out the lyrics for the song below, which premiered at Fox 9.

Nobody got in nobody's way
So eye guess u could say
It was a good day
At least a little better than the day in Baltimore

Does anybody hear us pray?
4 Michael Brown or Freddie Gray peace is more than the absence of war
Absence of war

R we gonna c another bloody day?
We're tired of cryin' & people dyin'
Let's all take the guns away

Absence of war—U and Me
Maybe we can finally say
Enuff is enuff it's time 4 love

It's time 2 hear,
It's time 2 hear

The guitar play! (guitar solo)
