The Quarry’s Video For Chad Hugo-Produced Single “Frozen Hearts” Is So Summertime Sadness

Things aren’t quite as they seem.

With a wash of gauzy vocals and warm tones, broken up every-so-often by the blast of an airhorn, The Quarry's Chad Hugo-produced first single "Frozen Hearts" sounds an awful lot like summer in spite of its refrain: In your frozen heart, winter's here to stay. The song samples Angelina Jolie's emotional 2013 Governors Awards Speech and has a new sepia-toned video, directed by Joslyn Rose Lyons that illustrates its contradictions by setting a doomed couple amidst a series of summery scenes (wide open windows, sundresses and skateboards, hearts drawn in the sand, synchronized dancers).
