As an animation style, claymation is pure nostalgia. Back in the day, stop-motion graphics and crude, deformable characters were all the rage in video games and animated films. The trend has since died down, as artists and studios explore more sophisticated technologies and focus on building worlds that are realistic as possible. But mysterious Instagram artist AZXD is breathing new life into claymation, thanks to adorable videos depicting some of the zeitgeist-iest moments in sports.
