Future mixes it up on his latest #MonsterMonday video: he’s been out on the Jungle tour with Drake, so he spliced together footage from his shows to make the clip for “No Compadre,” a song from his last mixtape, 56 Nights. “No Compadre” is a menacing track with a beat that seems to be constantly on the verge of exploding, as if a large piece of industrial equipment is overheating at an alarming rate. Future’s random, stream-of-conscious narrative heightens the mood rather than diffusing it. The hook is equal parts hedonism, violence, and industry: "You fuck around, get murked today / Fuck around, get work today / Fuck around with all the fuck arounds / Fuck around, you gonna get paid." In a low-key way, the video rides the same premise as #BeyoncéAlwaysOnBeat: the tour footage is presumably not always of Future performing “No Compadre,” but it works anyway.
