Artist Mikky Ekko envisions "Watch Me Rise," the latest single off his debut album Time, as his battle cry. "It's about overcoming all odds to be who you're meant to be," he wrote The FADER in an email. This may be reference to, say, the uphill battle he's fought to be recognized as more than just the guy on that one Rihanna song; but the odds he's up against in this new Nina McNeely directed video are more elemental: flashes of colors, strobe lights, and lots of smoke.
