London filmmaker Grace LaDoja, whose work we've come to love via her music videos for FKA Twigs and Skepta, shared a sweet three minute short called "Loving The Crew" today—which, surreally, was sponsored by Barbie. It features WAH Nails boss Sharmadean Reid, model Naomi Shimanda, designer Carri Munden, writer Harriet Verney, and music A&R Shakira Kali musing on what it means to them to be a woman and to have a loving, diverse group of female friends.
"I can't bear shopping," Verney offers, while Kali relates how the only make-up her mum ever needed was lipstick. "Beauty is something we all have individually; no one should be able to tell us we're not beautiful," says Shimanda. Who would've thought the day would come when you'd see that message with the Barbie stamp on it? Watch the above, and call your girlfriends after.
