Lupe Fiasco Wants To Destroy Physical Copies Of Lasers

With a laser.

August 31, 2015

Lupe Fiasco has been having a pretty good summer. He managed to offer the only sane response to the Meek Mill and Drake beef, sort-of rap battle with Yasiin Bey, and over the weekend, he surprise-dropped a 6-track mixtape. Now, it looks like Lupe wants to enter 2016 in true sci-fi fashion. In a rather long post to his Instagram today, the rapper announced a project that he hopes will "unrelease" his 2011 record Lasers. For those of us who don't remember 2011, Lasers was Lupe's follow-up to the wildly popular The Cool that was shrouded in the type of controversy and anticipation reserved for Frank Ocean in 2015. Lupe now wants to offer fans who bought physical copies of the album a chance to air out all of those frustrations by having them send him their copy to be obliterated by a real-life laser. Wow. Check out Lupe's post, which includes instructions, above and read why it's cool to be a Lupe fan here.
