Earlier this year, Hayley Kiyoko—who your little cousins might recognize from her role in the Jem and the Holograms remake—made a splash with her debut EP, This Side of Paradise, which was dense with progressive, sharp-edged dance pop.

Today, Kiyoko has delivered a self-directed visual for This Side of Paradise standout "Cliffs Edge." Through pink and blue lenses, the video captures a couple weathering the ecstatic highs and painful lows that are described in the song.

"I wanted to show a tumultuous love that constantly twists and turns, when each person feels pushed to an emotional cliff's edge," Kiyoko explained in an email to The FADER. "But ultimately you have to save yourself from 'drowning' in those emotions; take a step back, take a breath and know that everything is going to be ok."
