Earlier this year, DonMonique brought Brooklyn back with her Thirst Trap EP, a booming, toothy collection of songs that harkens back to her borough's golden age. "Drown," however, is a hazy and hyper-contemporary sounding zone-out anthem. Or as DonMonique put it in an email to The FADER: "All I knew was my project needed a weed song, something to drown out all of the hardcore super New York-y tracks on it."

Accordingly, the video is a lackadaisical affair, featuring best friends, a hang sesh in front of a Taylor Swift Red Tour afghan blanket, and Slurpees (aka the best night). "I wanted the video to be just as chill as the song is," she said, "so I grabbed Hidji and my friend Rebecca and we shot around the city in the middle of the night and got high." Finessing the plug, finessing the plug!
