In his FADER cover story, Zayn Malik explained part of the reason he ended up leaving One Direction. "That's not music that I would listen to," he noted. "Would you listen to One Direction, sat at a party with your girl? I wouldn't... As much as I was in that band, and I loved everything that we did, that's not music that I would listen to... That's just not who I am. If I was sat at a dinner date with a girl, I would play some cool shit, you know what I mean?"
US Weekly is now reporting that the four remaining members of One Direction are also planning to call it quits. The information comes from "a source close to the band," who says the boys chose "not to renew their recording contract." "The 1D thing just ran its course," he added. "They’ll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers."
